WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING?

January 30, 2015

Dear Coach Chaplick,

We just wanted to thank you and your staff for a wonderful experience for our son, Jake Schena at Milford Academy. The 16 weeks of the fall 2014 season was quite an experience. Not only did Jake learn a ton about football and self-discipline, but he also learned about lifes lessons becoming a young man. Being the first time away from home for a long period of time, Jake quickly learned how to become responsible not only for his actions on the field, but also off the field. In no way was this an easy 16 weeks, as you and your coaching staff push these boys hard and show them what football is all about at the college level. What a great way to mold each player along with preparing the group as a team. Your recruiting process is impressive, and we are thrilled to not only have Jake with a scholarship, but also close to home. How nice will it be next fall to be able to cheer him on from only 30 minutes away. We did not know much about prep schools, let alone one semester prep schools, but through the process we certainly feel as though this was a worthwhile investment. Jake was able to raise his SAT score along with his GPA. He also had the ability to help tutor other students. The knowledge and skills Jake learned on and off the field will stay with him through his football career and through life. He was fortunate to transfer mid-year to Central Connecticut State University so he is able to meet and bond with the team, and also engage in winter and spring workouts with the trainer and rest of the team. How impressive to have our son play at a D1AA level, when prior to going to Milford, Jake was offered to play at D3 schools.

Best of luck to Milford in the future. We will be sure to keep our eye out for next years schedule and look forward to coming to your next game in CT.

Thanks again!

The Schena Family
